The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will be hosting the 2027 edition of International Data Week (IDW). IDW 2027 will take place in Cape Town, South Africa on 20 – 23 September 2027 and hosted by the IDW founding organisations: the International Science Council’s Committee on Data (CODATA), World Data System and the Research Data Alliance.
The event will be supported by the Department of Science and Innovation for South Africa, and the local organising committee will be led by the CSIR’s National Integrated Cyberinfrastructure System (NICIS).
IDW 2027 will address topics such as: enhancing and entrenching the dialogue on open science; skills development; infrastructure development; and resourcing in Africa.
